Quan Cosby arrived at Texas as a former prep quarterback and minor league baseball player and became one of the top wide receivers and kick returners in UT history. A key member of the 2005 National Championship team, he was a two-time All-Big 12 selection and a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist in 2008. Cosby finished his career with 212 receptions for 2,598 yards and 19 touchdowns, ranking among UT’s all-time leaders, and set records in kickoff returns with 73 for 1,731 yards, including a 91-yard touchdown. He also excelled in punt returns, finishing with 372 yards on 33 returns and totaling 4,701 all-purpose yards. Cosby helped set UT records with quarterback Colt McCoy for single-season completions and was part of the top single-season receiving duo in school history with Jordan Shipley. He made memorable plays in the Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State and contributed to multiple bowl victories throughout his career. A first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection in 2008, Cosby served as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and graduated with a degree in social work. Before UT, he was a two-time all-state high school quarterback and a state champion sprinter. After Texas, he played four years in the NFL with Cincinnati, Denver, Indianapolis, and Jacksonville. Cosby is now a partner at Marsh & McLennan Agency, serves as a liaison for UT, is active in alumni and community events, and was inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame in 2011.
