Trey Hardee

Trey Hardee, one of the most accomplished multi-event athletes in the history of the Texas Longhorns, competed from 2004 to 2007 and built a legacy as one of the world’s top decathletes. A two-time Olympian, two-time World Champion, two-time U.S. Champion, NCAA Champion, and four-time All-American, Hardee also earned a silver medal in the decathlon at the 2012 Olympic Games. After transferring to Texas, his career flourished as he became the program’s first-ever NCAA decathlon champion and set school records in both the heptathlon and decathlon, including an NCAA-record 6,208 points in the heptathlon and 8,465 points in the decathlon—marks that stood as program bests for years. He was named the 2006 NCAA Indoor Field Athlete of the Year and also earned All-America honors in the long jump.

Hardee’s success extended well beyond college, highlighted by back-to-back World Championship titles in 2009 and 2011 and a silver medal at the 2010 World Indoor Championships. Despite setbacks, including a significant elbow injury that required surgery, he consistently returned to elite form, earning a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics after finishing second at the U.S. Trials. He also claimed multiple U.S. titles and Texas Relays victories, further cementing his reputation as one of the premier decathletes of his era. Hardee is now the founder and CEO of Altum Wellness.
