Ten Longhorns named to Austin American-Statesman All-Big 12 Team

The Austin American-Statesman released its 2004 All-Big 12 Conference team Tuesday and 10 Longhorns were named to the first and second teams highlighted by senior LB Derrick Johnson being chosen as Defensive Player of the Year, and senior RB Cedric Benson sharing Offensive Player of the Year honors with Oklahoma QB Jason White.
Johnson and Benson were both named to the first team along with junior TE David Thomas, sophomore OT Justin Blalock, junior defensive tackle Larry Dibbles and junior SS Michael Huff.
Making the second team on offense were junior OT Jonathan Scott, junior DT Rod Wright, junior LB Aaron Harris and senior FS Phillip Geiggar.
