Aug. 31, 2012
Make your trek to Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on gamedays easier by riding your bicyicle and parking it at the new Gameday Bike Corral. Located on the lawn just west of the LBJ Fountain, the Gameday Bike Corral is across the street from the stadium and is in the heart of the student gameday experience. Once you've locked your bike, tailgate at The Tent, a brand new spot reserved for UT students located right next to the Gameday Bike Corral. This area allows UT students to tailgate prior to the game and gives you a front-row view for the Stadium Stampede. Bring your favorite tailgating foods, drinks, games and friends out to The Tent all season long.
About the Stadium Stampede
Gameday at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium is rich with traditions that shape the Texas Football experience. This season, join Texas Football, Texas Cheer and Pom and the Longhorn Band at the Stadium Stampede! Beginning two hours and 30 minutes prior to kickoff, Smokey the Cannon will fire as a signal to head to the corner of 23rd St. and Robert Dedman Dr. (just west of the LBJ Fountain). Fans will line 23rd St. to the North Gate in anticipation of the Longhorns' arrival at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. The players and coaches will unload from their buses and walk down the street as fans cheer them on. The Stadium Stampede concludes when Texas Football enters the stadium through the Tom & Cinda Hicks North Gate. Fans should be in place for the Stadium Stampede no later than 2 hours and 15 minutes prior to kickoff.
Coach Mack Brown and Texas Football can't wait to see fans at the Stadium Stampede this season. Don't forget -- come early, be loud, stay late, and wear orange!
