Greetings Longhorn Nation,
We've got a lot of action on the Forty Acres this week and plenty of opportunities for you to come out and support your Longhorns. Men's Basketball plays Eastern Illinois Tuesday and Women's Basketball hosts Duquesne Thursday, both at the Erwin Center. Volleyball is in the stretch run of a Big 12 Championship race and hosts K-State Wednesday and Kansas Saturday at Gregory Gym. And Men's Tennis holds its Longhorn Invitational at the Texas Tennis Center Friday-Sunday. On top of that, it's NCAA postseason time for two of our teams. Soccer was selected for the 2018 NCAA tournament and faces Virginia Tech in Austin Friday night. And our Cross Country programs compete in the NCAA South Central Regional Friday in College Station for a spot in the NCAA Championship field.
It was another fun time getting together with all of our fans and supporters on Saturday at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. We came up a little short against West Virginia, but you certainly delivered once again. What an awesome atmosphere for a really exciting college football game! You all brought it to the final gun and had a huge impact on our team and we thank you for that. It also was a truly special day as we honored those who have fought for us to have the freedoms we enjoy in our great country with Veterans Recognition Day. And how about that halftime tribute to our beloved friend Frank Denius, his family and the Cain Foundation for their lifetime support of Texas Athletics? It was such a pleasure to let everyone know that our soon-to-be constructed Texas Athletics Hall of Fame will be named the Frank Denius Family University of Texas Athletics Hall of Fame in their honor. Sadly, Mr. Denius passed away in July, but this is a tribute we're all extremely proud of and one that will carry on the legacy of this American hero and Longhorn Legend for generations to come.
Once again, thank you all for your continued support and, together, helping us put the "T" back in "Texas."

Hook 'em, Horns!
Football in hunt for Big 12 title
This week it's off to Lubbock for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff against the Red Raiders. We're still in the hunt in the Big 12 Championship race so we all need to pull together and -- whether we're in the stands in Lubbock or watching with friends -- help our Horns get this one.
There's one more opportunity this season in Austin to come together and celebrate our great University on a football Saturday, so if you haven't gotten your tickets for the Iowa State game on Nov. 17 do that today!
We honor the young men who've given so much to our program with Senior Day festivities, and celebrate one last time at Bevo Blvd. and Longhorn City Limits. Let's show these tremendous student-athletes and their families how much we appreciate them!

Men's Basketball vs. Arkansas in Armed Forces Classic
We're fortunate to be part of another event honoring our military this week as Men's Basketball faces Arkansas in the Armed Forces Classic. That game is Friday, Nov. 9, on the grounds of Fort Bliss in El Paso and televised by our friends at ESPN at 6 p.m. Central as well as the Longhorn IMG Radio Network.
Soccer selected for NCAA tournament
The 2018 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship bracket was announced Monday and Texas earned a No. 4-seed to face Virginia Tech in Austin on Friday, Nov. 9. Thirty-one automatic bids were handed out to conference champions while the remaining 31 schools received at-large bids. The top 16 teams are seeded in the 64-team bracket.
Softball Alumni Game
History tells us we must pay attention to the past to know where we're heading. It was so good to have the legends of Texas Softball back Sunday at McCombs Field bestowing their knowledge to our current Longhorns. Read more.
