Greetings Longhorn Nation,
As Athletics Director, my primary goal is to provide the structure and support system to allow our student-athletes to earn their degrees and compete for championships. What we saw last weekend was a perfect example of the championship caliber athletes we have at Texas. Men's Swimming and Diving won their 39th straight conference title -- highlighted by freshman Jordan Windle's NCAA record in men's platform diving -- while the women's team swept all 21 events to claim its sixth straight Big 12 title. Finally, Women's Track and Field secured the Big 12 Indoor Championship for the fourth time in five years. I was so proud to see the UT Tower bathed in burnt orange on Saturday night and I'm looking forward to many more nights like that in the future!

FBI INVESTIGATION INTO NCAA MEN'S BASKETBALL
Winning with integrity is paramount to Texas Athletics. We expect all of our programs to comply with NCAA rules, and every year we have our student-athletes sign forms attesting they will follow those rules. Beyond that, we put a great deal of effort and resources into educating our coaches and student-athletes on NCAA rules and regulations. Our compliance department is constantly monitoring and communicating with our coaches and student-athletes. There is nothing more important to this department than maintaining our integrity.

ANDREW JONES UPDATE
I am so pleased to report that Men's Basketball sophomore Andrew Jones was released from MD Anderson Cancer Center last Saturday and started receiving treatment on an outpatient basis. He and his family remain in Houston to tackle the next stage of his recovery. Andrew continues to need our support as he fights this battle. Please make a donation to the Andrew Jones and Family Support Fund if you haven't already done so. Donate now.

TEXAS ATHLETICS HOSTS BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENT
Last week at the LBJ Auditorium, Texas Athletics along with several other divisions on campus had a wonderful event honoring Black History Month. If you weren't able to attend, you can read about what happened in the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games and how nine African-American track and field athletes set the stage for advancing integration on a national stage.
