Women's Golf's Cooper, Papp pace USA to early lead at Arnold Palmer Cup

Three Longhorns are competing at the 2019 event in Roland, Ark.
ROLAND, Ark. – Texas women's golfers Hailee Cooper and Kaitlyn Papp each won their mixed four-ball matches on Friday to help give the United States an early 8-4 advantage after the opening day of the 2019 Arnold Palmer Cup at The Alotian Golf Club. The U.S. won three of the day's first five matches to jump out to an early lead.
Cooper teamed up with Texas men's golfer Cole Hammer to defeat the International team's Jiwon Jeon (Alabama) and Keita Nakajima, 2&1.
Papp and Peter Kuest beat the International team's Sofia Garcia (Texas Tech) and Ivan Ramirez, 3&1.
Sophomore Agathe Laisne, who teamed with Chun An Yu in representing the International team, fell to the United States' Malia Nam (USC) and Austin Eckroat, 1-Up.
The 2019 Arnold Palmer Cup continues on Saturday with mixed foursomes and foursomes.
