WACO, Texas – The Texas Women's Basketball team was bested by No. 7/9 Baylor, 60-35, on Sunday at the Ferrell Center. The loss drops Texas to 14-6 overall and 8-5 in Big 12 play this season.
The Longhorns struggled from the floor in the first half, making only 8-of-30 shots (26.7%) and going 0-for-7 from behind the arc. Charli Collier, who entered the night averaging 22.3 points and 12.8 rebounds per game, was held to just two points and one board in the first half Sunday night. She finished with two points (1-for-3 FG) and five rebounds before fouling out in the fourth quarter.
Things didn't get much better for Texas in the final two quarters, as Baylor outscored the Horns, 27-18, in the second half. The Lady Bears were led by NaLyssa Smith, whose team-high 14 points helped secure their ninth-straight win over Texas dating back to the 2017 season.
