Hook ‘Em's Community Heroes – March 2023

AUSTIN, Texas – Together with Truist, congratulations to March's Hook 'Em's Community Heroes: from Women's Track & Field, Marilyn Nwora, and from Men's Track & Field, Marcellus Moore.
Marilyn wants to lead the charge in helping our youth overcome their mental health struggles and eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health challenges.
"I want to provide the youth with resources to talk about and strengthen their mental health, so they can become holistic adults who can change the world!"
Marcellus has seen firsthand the effect gun violence can have on a community and is determined to raise awareness to end gun violence around the country.
"Gun violence is everywhere and affects everyone. Growing up in the Chicago and now living in Texas, I see the effects of gun violence amongst our youth in these places, as well as across the country. It saddens me to see so many young people harmed by the effects of gun violence, and I am committed to being part of the change in my community with this issue."
In recognition of their causes, Truist is proud to donate $500 each to organizations that provide youth mental health care and gun violence prevention.
