Track & Field claims multiple titles to close 98th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays presented by Truist

Longhorns earn relay wins, individual titles on final day in Austin.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas capped the 98th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays presented by Truist with a marquee victory in the Sanya Richards-Ross 4x400-meter relay, highlighting a strong showing on the fourth and final day Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
The quartet of Amelliah Birdow, Elise Cooper, Ramiah Elliott and Bayleigh Minor delivered the signature moment of the meet for the Longhorns, winning the championship in 3:27.74.
Kendrick Smallwood defended his title in the men's 110-meter hurdles, winning in 13.16 (2.7m/s). He also contributed to a third-place finish in the men's 4x100-meter Clyde Littlefield relay alongside Troy Mason, Jayden Jones and John Rutledge (39.10).
The Longhorns captured the women's 4x100-meter Carlette Guidry title, as Carleta Bernard, Cooper, Abigail Wolfe and Naomi London combined for a winning time of 43.19. Texas also posted a runner-up finish in the women's 4x200-meter relay, with London, Elliott, Minor and Holly Okuku clocking 1:33.28.
In the field, Kelsey Daniel continued his standout weekend with a victory in the men's triple jump, registering a mark of 16.10 meters (52-10) to claim his second title of the meet after winning the long jump on Friday.
Michael Pinones added another title for Texas, winning the men's shot put with a throw of 19.64 meters (64-5.25). The mark moved him to No. 10 on the program's all-time performer list. Shaiquan Dunn finished runner-up with a throw of 18.50m (60-8.50) to complete the one-two finish.
In the women's 100 meters, Bernard placed second in 11.06, moving to No. 8 on the Texas all-time list, while Wolfe finished fourth in 11.26. Jayden Jones collected a fifth-place result for the men in the 100 meters in 10.29.
Texas opened the day with a runner-up finish in the 4x800-meter relay, as Grace Kowalski, Isabel Conde de Frankenberg, Mia Perez and Emma Rodriguez-Wade combined for a time of 8:45.97.
In the 4x400m relays, Texas added a third-place result in the Cleburne Price Jr. 4x400-meter relay, with Kody Blackwood, Rutledge, Waly Bathily and Logan Popelka clocking 3:04.29.
The women's 4x400-meter team of Mackenzie Collins, Anouk Krause-Jentsch, Wolfe and Okuku placed second in 3:37.66, while the men's 4x400-meter squad of Sihle Mahlangu, Chris Brinkley Jr., Mason and Conor Kelly finished fourth in 3:07.13.
Texas also added a third-place result in the Cleburne Price Jr. 4x400-meter relay, with Kody Blackwood, Rutledge, Waly Bathily and Logan Popelka clocking 3:04.29.
In additional field events, Jeanne Le Goff moved into the Texas All-Time Top 10 performer ranks in the triple jump, placing second in the women's competition with a mark of 13.17m (43-02.50). Giavonna Meeks added a third-place finish for Texas in the shot put with a heave of 15.77m (51-9).
Osawese Agbonkonkon cleared 2.10m (6-10.75) to finish third in the men's high jump, and David Jarolimek recorded a fourth-place throw of 55.19m (181-01) in the men's discus.
Texas returns to action Saturday, April 11, at the Arkansas Spring Invitational in Fayetteville.
