OVERVIEW
The Hook 'Em & Hoops Skills Contest is a three-round competition that provides boys and girls in grades 3 through 6 the opportunity to showcase their basketball skills through recreational PASSING, SHOOTING and DRIBBLING skills competitions and encourage participation in youth sports. The event is:
- FREE for guests who attend the Texas Women's Basketball vs. Stanford game;
- begins approximately 15 minutes after the game;
- and is limited to the first 125 pre-registered participants by Dec. 18 (or until registration is at capacity).
Pre-registered participants receive T-shirts for participating (while supplies last) and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each division are invited to be recognized at the Texas Men's Basketball vs. High Point game on Monday, Dec. 30.
PARTICIPANTS
The recreational competition is FREE for all boys and girls in grades 3 through 6. All participants must have a parent or guardian complete a registration/liability form obtained from Texas Athletics. The University of Texas at Austin and Texas Athletics will not take custodial responsibility of minors while participating in the Hook 'Em & Hoops Skills Contest. Custodial responsibility will remain with parents, legal guardians, and chaperones.
DIVISIONS
The two divisions are Grades 3-4 and Grades 5-6 with boys and girls competing separately.
