Jackson named finalist for Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team

ATLANTA -- The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), in cooperation with Eastman Kodak Company, announced the finalists today for the 2007 Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team, and University of Texas 6-3 senior forward Tiffany Jackson was one of the finalists for the third consecutive year.
There are 52 finalists who are voted upon by WBCA-member coaches in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions, and they will be vying for a spot on the 10-member Kodak/WBCA All-America Team.
The Division I Kodak/WBCA All-America Team will be announced on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 9:45 a.m. (ET) in Cleveland, Ohio during the 2007 NCAA Women's Final Four. The Kodak All-America Team press conference will be held at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Center.
Jackson has been nominated for Kodak All-America honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. This year, the 6-3 senior leads the 18-14 Longhorns in scoring (16.0 ppg), rebounding (9.0 rpg), blocks (41, 1.3 bpg) and steals (80, 2.5 spg) and gained All-Big 12 honors for the fourth year in a row. Jackson lead the league in conference steals (2.5 spg) for the third straight year.
Jackson, who awaits word with her Longhorns team on a possible at-large berth to the upcoming NCAA Championship, also is a finalist for the State Farm Wade Trophy and Naismith Award as National Player of the Year, and was a semifinalist (top 30) candidate for the Wooden Award as the country's top player.
Of the 10 Kodak All-Americans on last year's squad, six are back on the ballot for 2007 honors- 6-3 junior forward Tasha Humphrey (Georgia), 5-6 senior guard Ivory Latta (North Carolina), 6-5 senior post Jessica Davenport (Ohio State), 6-4 sophomore forward Candace Parker (Tennessee), 6-4 sophomore post Courtney Paris (Oklahoma) and 5-10 junior guard Candice Wiggins from Stanford.
Jackson, Paris, Nebraska senior guard Kiera Hardy and Baylor senior forward Bernice Mosby are the four Big 12 Conference players up for Kodak/WBCA All-America honors.
