Former Longhorn Bryan inducted into ITA Men's Tennis Hall of Fame

ATHENS, Ga. -- Former University of Texas men's tennis standout Steve Bryan was inducted into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men's Tennis Hall of Fame in a ceremony held Wednesday evening in conjunction with the NCAA Tennis Championships at the University of Georgia.
Bryan (1989-90) became the fourth Longhorn to win a NCAA singles championship when he took the title in 1990. With a career record of 88-19, Bryan holds the highest winning percentage in the history of Texas Tennis at .822.
The two-time All-American and 1990 ITA National Player of the Year enjoyed a professional tennis career that peaked in 1994, when he reached No. 80 in the ATP world rankings. He retired in 1997 after earning nearly $600,000 in his six-year pro career.
Joining Bryan in the Hall's 25th induction class were former players Harry Likas, Jr. of San Francisco, Matt Lucena of California, Todd Martin of Northwestern, Allen Miller of Georgia, Alex O'Brien of Stanford, Al Parker of Georgia and MaliVai Washington of Michigan.
Coaches Joe Cabri of Lander (S.C.) and Tom Parham of Atlantic Christian (N.C., now Barton) and Elon also were inducted. Col. John L. Beaver of Georgia was inducted posthumously as a contributor.
