Corovic eliminated from NCAA Women's Tennis singles draw

ATHENS, Ga. -- University of Texas freshman Vanja Corovic suffered a three-set loss to Sacramento State's 111th-ranked Katrina Zheltova in the opening round of the 64-player NCAA singles draw Wednesday at the University of Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
The 24th-ranked Corovic took the first set, 7-5, but Zheltova rallied to take the second set, 6-4. After trailing 4-0 in the third set, Corovic pulled within 5-2, but Zheltova held serve in the last game to close out the match.
Corovic, the 2007 Big 12 Newcomer and Freshman of the Year, ends her first season at Texas with a 25-12 overall singles record. Zheltova will take on Baylor's Zuzana Cerna or Georgia's Natalie Frazier in the round of 32.
