University RV parking guidelines

2. Each lot has marked and numbered spaces.
3. The RV lot electrical services can handle 50, 30, or 20 amps only. Patrons are subject to losing RV parking privileges if they illegally dump into The University sewage line.
4. Access to the Longhorn Foundation RV parking lots begins at 8 a.m. Thursday prior to a home football game and extends to 6 p.m. Sunday. For the Thanksgiving Day Texas A&M game, access to RV parking lots begins at 8 p.m. Wednsday and extends to 6 p.m. Sunday. For all other events, contact www.utexas.edu/parking or call 512-471-PARK.
5. Priority deadline to order RV parking is 4 p.m., June 13, 2008. Complete and submit the reservation form by fax to Glenda Lane, Longhorn Foundation at 512-471-7706. The completed form and fee payment is necessary to reserve your space.
6. Great news! We will be offering you, as a current RV patron, the opportunity to automatically renew your RV parking space for future football seasons, if your RV dimensions remain the same. Longhorn Foundation priority levels are used to allocate any remaining parking spaces. Please note your first, second, and third choices. If your first choice is not available, the assignment is made in the next available space.
7. If you would like to coordinate parking alongside fellow RV operators, indicate that on the reservation form. Spaces for each member of the group are allocated together based upon the group member with the lowest Longhorn Foundation priority level. You may have to sacrifice a preferred space in order to park with a group.
8. Parking permits and space location maps are mailed in August. Those who request reserved spaces receive permits with a space number indicated. Permits must be displayed and visible at all times from traffic lanes within the lot. No admittance to the lot is allowed without the permit.
9. If spaces remain after the June 13, 2008 priority deadline, they are available for individual game-by-game selection. Longhorn Foundation priority is utilized for individual game space allocation. Game-by-game assignments are completed by 4 p.m. Wednesday of game week. You may reserve your individual game pass by faxing the reservation form and credit card information to Glenda Lane, Longhorn Foundation at 512-471-7706. Your pass may be mailed if ordered more than two weeks in advance of the game. If not, the permit will be with the event guard at the Comal Street entrance to lot #110.
10. Patrons are limited to one RV space per game.
11. All non-member reservations are held until halftime.
12. The RV parking area is for Longhorns fans who tailgate. It is not to be used for any commercial endeavors. Failure to follow these policies results in removal of the RV from the parking area.
13. The permit includes use of the space for the RV and one extra vehicle (whether towed or not). The extra vehicle must remain ON THE ASSIGNED SPACE; otherwise, all vehicles in the assigned spaces are subject to relocation. Patrons who depart the lot in vehicles are issued a pass-out stub by the event guard on duty to re-enter the lot upon return.
14. For the non-electrical lot, please contact Linsey Duett, Parking and Transportation Services at .
15. Pets are welcome. They must be leashed or caged on the RV site or remain in the RV. Pets may not be left unattended outside the RV. Walking pets on a leash is acceptable, but the owner must clean up after the pet and appropriately dispose of waste. Please be considerate of your fellow RV neighbors and be responsible for your pet.
16. Inappropriate behavior by the RV permit holder or the permit holder's guests is subject to event personnel review. If the behavior does not change upon request, the site is reported to event and parking personnel by site number for action (spoken word, written notice, or permit cancellation and eviction).
17. Policies do not preclude playing catch with footballs or Frisbees or conducting a party. Recognize and respect your fellow Longhorns using the facility. Fighting, abusive language or abusive actions toward fellow parking lot users, University officials, or event personnel can result in immediate expulsion.
18. For those spending the night at the facility, respect the rights of others by refraining from loud music and noise during late night/early morning hours. To respect the rights of the neighborhood, we ask that all loud noises subside by 10 p.m.
19. Individual game permits for lots with electricity supply are valid for Thursday, Friday and Saturday night of game week. Cost is $250 per game for Longhorn Foundation members and $350 for non-members. individual game permits are screened to ensure membership in The Longhorn Foundation.
20. Guidelines for grilling and use of portable cookers in tailgating lots on The University of Texas campus, per the UT Fire Marshall, are:
a. The cooking device should be at least 15-20 feet from any vehicle or RV.
b. The smaller portable cooking devices should be at least 15-20 feet from any building or permanent structure.
c. Larger, wheeled cooking devices (using primarily wood) should be 35 feet from any building or vehicle.
d. A wheeled trailer-type cooking device should be disconnected (unhitched) from the towing vehicle. The towing vehicle should be moved away from the trailer at least 15 feet.
e. Frying devices cannot be used on any asphalt surface. If hot oil spills across the parking lot, it will create a hazard to other patrons, pedestrians and motorists. With the Texas A&M game being scheduled for 7 p.m. Thanksgiving Day this season, the potential for use of turkey fryers is expected to greatly increase. The Longhorn Foundation and Parking and Transportation Services have no objection to patrons using turkey fryers. Fryers will be restricted to non-asphalt surfaces of the parking lots on campus (all parking lots used for tailgating/game day parking). Patrons planning to use turkey fryers should include an oil-absorbing material (such as cat litter, sand, or a commercial product) in their tailgating setup. Any oil spilled on asphalt must be soaked up, swept up and removed from the parking lot immediately. Patrons found to be using turkey fryers on asphalt surfaces in UT parking lots will be asked to remove them immediately. Patrons not complying will be asked to leave the parking lot and reported to the Longhorn Foundation for consideration of loss of parking privileges.
21. All season passes and individual game passes must be paid in advance.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are the benefits of this policy?
The past practices of parking RVs in Lot 37 were changed to accommodate increased patron demand. The new lot and policies provide a more adequate facility for all patrons. Electrical service, a season pass for reserved RV spaces, and individual game RV space reservations are now available to Longhorns fans.
2. What if I want to park with a group of friends?
Each person in your group should fill in the names on the reservation form of who should be included in the group. Space allocation is determined by the donor with the lowest priority level in your group. Spaces are assigned together based upon availability. For example: If Joe Jones and Sam Smith want to park together, they would each write the other's name on their reservation form. If Joe's priority is highest, he must wait to be assigned a spot until Sam's name is reached in priority.
3. What if I forget to get my individual game reservation form in by Wednesday at 4 p.m.?
You still have a chance to use the lot. You need to call Glenda Lane, Longhorn Foundation at 512-471-4359 to pay and reserve your space. You are assigned a space from available spaces.
4. Can I reserve more than one space for other friends?
No, each person may only reserve one space per account. Your friends need to make their own reservations.
5. What is the latest I can arrive in the RV lot and still receive my reserved space?
Spaces for season and individual game passes are held until halftime.
6. What is the fee for reserving a season space or for bringing a towed vehicle?
Season pass reservations cost $1,000 and must be paid by June 13, 2008. The fee includes one towed vehicle. This fee covers electrical service.
7. Are individual game reservations available?
Yes, the RV fee is $250 per weekend for Longhorn Foundation members and $350 for non-members and must be paid in advance by check or credit card.
8. Can I use a generator?
No. Generators are not allowed in lots #110 and 113.
9. Do I need a special permit to enter the lot?
For all home football games, lot entry is by permit only. Display your RV season pass or RV individual game parking permit from your mirror and make sure it is visible from the traffic lanes within the lot. Season pass holders receive their permits by mail. Individual game RV lot patrons are required to pick up their pass at the RV lot entrance gate. Once you are at the parking lot, event guards will verify your RV lot permit. Permits must be displayed throughout the entire game. As with past seasons, pull the stub from the permit and provide it to the security guards upon entering the lot.
10. Why do these fees not count toward my annual Longhorn Foundation gift, not included in cumulative giving totals, and are not tax deductible?
They are fees and are not considered gifts. The fees go toward the cost of the installation of electricity, construction, and maintenance.
11. May I renew my 2007 RV space for the 2008 Football season ?
Yes, we will be offering you, as a current RV patron, the opportunity to automatically renew your 2007 RV parking space for future football seasons, if your RV dimensions remain the same.
