Women's Tennis advances four to round of 32 at ITA Texas Regional Championships

WACO, Texas -- Texas advanced four student-athletes to the round of 32 in the main singles draw Saturday on day one of the ITA Texas Regional Championships at the Baylor Tennis Center.
Sophomore Krista Damico knocked off North Texas' Paula Dinuta by a 6-4, 6-3 count to set up a round-of-32 match on Sunday against Texas A&M's Lauren Santocroce. Freshman Aeriel Ellis continued her stellar month of October with a victory over Texas A&M's Janelle Cuthbertson. Ellis took the first set, 6-2, and Cuthbertson retired at one-all in the second set. Ellis will meet Texas tech's Elizabeth Ullathorne on Sunday.
Junior Caroline Larsson added a 7-6 (5), 6-3 win over Rice's Alex Rasch in Saturday's opening round. Larsson will meet Texas Tech's Lorena Aviles in the round of 32. Junior Amanda Craddock chipped in a come-from-behind 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-2 win over Texas A&M's Nazari Urbina. Craddock will take on SMU's Pavi Francis on Sunday.
