AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Senior Damion James scored 24 points in his final home game for struggling Texas, and the Longhorns rallied for an 87-76 win over Oklahoma on Monday night.
Earlier in the day, Texas (23-7, 9-6 Big 12) became the first team since Indiana in 1980 to reach No. 1 and then later drop out of The Associated Press rankings. Texas started 17-0 to reach No. 1 for the first time in school history in January.
Tony Crocker scored 24 points to lead Oklahoma (13-16, 4-11), which led by 11 early in the second half.
J'Covan Brown, who was carted off the floor after a hard fall against Texas A&M two days earlier, didn't start but finished with 15 points and five assists for Texas.
