The National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) has announced that UT athletics directors DeLoss Dodds and Chris Plonsky have been named recipients of the inaugural Organizational Leadership Award. The Organizational Leadership Award was designed to honor leaders who have demonstrated outstanding commitments to promoting compliance within their organizations, and on a national level.
The University of Texas has long been a leader in this area, and much of that can be credited to Dodds (men's athletics) and Plonsky (women's athletics).
Together, Dodds and Plonsky saw the need for compliance professionals to have a national voice. Their professional support of NAAC was a driving force in the resurgence of the association. Dodds was recently awarded the Core Values Award for integrity as a community leader, and Plonsky serves on the institution's Executive Compliance Committee - the UT president's group that oversees all compliance issues for The University.
"DeLoss and Chris have both demonstrated strong support of NAAC, and were vital to the association's present success," said Tricia Turley, NAAC Awards Committee Chair. "Due to their national presence on compliance-related issues, NAAC is proud to honor DeLoss and Chris with the inaugural Organizational Leadership Award."
