Cooper wins platform event at NCAA Zone D Diving Meet

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Matt Cooper and Drew Livingston finished first and second in the platform event at the NCAA Zone D Diving Meet in Iowa City, Iowa during the final day of competition.
Cooper took home the victory in the platform. His score of 884.80 beat out Livingston's second place total of 871.05 points.
For Cooper he had the top score in each of the last three rounds and a top two score in all six finals rounds. His final three dives netted scores of 84.15, 82.50 and 76.80 with his top mark coming after he executed the reverse 3 1/2 somersault tuck.
Livingston posted the top score in both the second and third rounds of the finals with 78.40 and 73.50 points respectively. He notched his 78.40 on the armstand back two somersault 1 1/2 twist free. He was the leader after the prelims with 468.20 points.
Both divers will join 15 swimmers in representing Texas at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships in Federal Way, Wash. March 22-24.
