UT Rowing FAQ's
No experience required to walk on the squad and participate -- all full-time female UT students are welcome!
Join Texas Women's Rowing with Head coach and three-time Olympian Carie Graves and assistant coaches Caroline King and Melissa Perrone. Coach King was named the 2006 and 2011 South Region Assistant Rowing Coach of the Year and Coach Perrone the 2008 South Region Assistant Rowing Coach of the Year. Perrone also competed at the 1997, 1998 and 1999 NCAA Championships as a student-athlete at Northeastern.
Highlights of Texas Women's Rowing
- We are an official NCAA Division I sport.
- No financial cost for participation! All of your equipment, uniforms and travel are budgeted by UT Athletics. (Nike sponsors all UT Athletics team apparel.)
- Top-of-the-line racing shells and equipment.
- Afternoon practices (3:30-5:30 p.m. or 5:30-7:30 p.m., your choice).
- The novice rowing team's strength training and conditioning program is one-on-one with UT strength coaches.
- During your time on the Forty Acres, the coaches, staff and fellow student-athletes will ensure that you are provided the best educational and athletic experience possible.

Come to our informational meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place on the 9th floor of Bellmont Hall in the Centennial Room (enter from San Jacinto Street on the west side of DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium).
