- Series: Oklahoma now leads the all-time series with Texas, 48-34. It is the Sooners' first victory in the last seven games against the Longhorns - since Feb. 6, 2010 in Norman.
- Big Monday: UT played in its first of three 'Big Monday' telecasts on ESPN during the Big 12 Conference season on Monday. The Longhorns next primetime game on Big Monday is Feb. 4 at West Virginia, followed by March 4 against Baylor at the Erwin Center.
- Starters: Javan Felix, Julien Lewis, Ioannis Papapetrou, Jonathan Holmes and Cameron Ridley started on Monday. It is the fourth time this starting lineup has been used (1-3 record). Felix and Holmes are the only Horns to start all 18 games this season. Lewis has started in 15 consecutive games.
- Bench scoring: The Longhorns' bench out-scored the Sooners 44-to-9, including a 20-to-2 advantage in the first half. UT's 44 bench points is a season high (previous high of 43 points against UT Arlington [12/1/12]).
- Close calls: Texas is now 1-6 in games decided by six points or less this season.
- Leads and runs: Texas' largest lead of the game was five points at the 4:14 mark of the first half. The Longhorns cut a 12-point OU lead (12:25, 2nd) to four points with one minute remaining in the game. Texas held OU to without a FG in the last 3:18 of the game - the Sooners went 6-of-9 at the FT line during that span. There were three lead changes and four tied scores.
- Sheldon McClellan tied a career high in points (25) and field goals made (10) ... reached double-figure scoring for the 15th time this season and 36th time of his career (52 games) ... in three career games against Oklahoma, McClellan averages 20.6 points on 52.2 percent shooting.
- Jonathan Holmes left the game at the 6:58 mark of the first half and did not return. He broke a bone in his right hand and will be out indefinitely. There is no timetable on his return. The injury is not season-ending at this time. Texas held a 19-15 lead at the time of his injury substitution. Holmes finished with two rebounds in eight minutes of action. He is UT's leading rebounder (7.4 rpg) and had double-figure points in three consecutive games entering Monday's contest.
- Ioannis Papapetrou scored 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range, in 17 minutes ... he now has six treys in the last three games (6-12 3FG) ... reached double-figure scoring for the sixth time this season.
- Prince Ibeh set a season-high eight points on four dunks (4-4 FG) ... added four rebounds in 16 minutes ... his four dunks are the most by a Texas player in a game this season.
- Jaylen Bond made his first career 3-point field goal at the 7:07 mark of the second half ... finished with three points and five rebounds in 20 minutes.
