Addison, Horn advance at ITA All-American Championships

Sophomore Breaunna Addison and freshman Pippa Horn need two doubles wins on Wednesday to advance to the main doubles draw.
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Texas sophomore Breaunna Addison and freshman Pippa Horn pulled within two victories of qualifying for the main doubles draw Tuesday on day three of the ITA All-American Championships.
Addison and Horn dealt Pennsylvania's Sol Eskenazi and Sonya Latycheva an 8-5 defeat in the opening round of the qualifying doubles draw. The Texas tandem will take on Iowa's Ruth Seaborne and Morven McCulloch in the qualifying round of 16 on Wednesday at a time to be announced.
Wins in the round of 16 and the quarterfinals Wednesday would send Addison and Horn to the main doubles draw at the ITA All-American Championships. Addison will open play in the main singles draw on Thursday.
UT freshman Ratnika Batra posted a 6-1, 7-6 win over Utah's Tereza Bekerova in the qualifying singles draw but was eliminated by St. Mary's sixth-seeded Jenny Julien later in the evening.
