- Series: K-State now leads the all-time series with Texas, 16-10. For the first time in the series, Texas and K-State played three times in one season.
- Starters: Myck Kabongo, Sheldon McClellan, Ioannis Papapetrou, Jonathan Holmes and Cameron Ridley started on Thursday. It is the first starting lineup change for Texas since Kabongo's return on Feb. 13 against Iowa State.
- Big 12 Championship: Texas falls to 22-17 in its 17th appearance in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship, including a 14-12 mark in games played in Kansas City, Mo. The Longhorns are 16-5 in the First and Quarterfinal rounds of the Championship.
