- Seeds Set: Texas will be the No. 7 seed in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship at Sprint Center in Kansas City next week. - Coming Back: For the third time this season, Texas won a game after trailing at halftime. The Longhorns trailed Texas Tech, 37-30, at the break. Texas Tech's largest lead of the game was 17 points at the 5:24 mark of the first half (34-17). Texas led for 1:14 of playing time, including the first points of the game (2-0 - 19:09 1st) and the last points of the game (71-69 - 0:01.7 OT).
- Lone Star State success: Texas has posted a 129-18 record against in-state foes during the Rick Barnes era.
- Julien Lewis made a jumper from just inside the free throw line with 1.7 seconds remaining in overtime to give Texas a 71-69 lead ... reached double figures in scoring (15 points) for the 15th time this season and 25th time of his career (62 games).
- Sheldon McClellan led Texas is scoring for the 15th time this season with a career-high 27 points ... recorded his sixth 20-point game of the season and eighth of his career ... reached double figures in scoring for the 25th time this season and 45th time of his career (65 games).
