With the postseason looming, excitement is building at Red & Charline McCombs Field. The No. 7/7 Texas Longhorns are in great shape to host an NCAA Regional from May 17-19. The Longhorns are 23-3 at home this season, with one home game remaining, Senior Day on Sunday, May 12 against No. 14 Baylor.

Texas sits at No. 3 in the NCAA Women's Softball RPI and holds a 9-4 record against ranked teams this season. This marks includes wins over No. 7 Louisville, No. 13 Washington and No. 1 Oklahoma. The Longhorns rank first or second in the Big 12 in several different categories: batting average (second in Big 12 and 13th nationally), earned run average (second in Big 12 and seventh nationally) and stolen bases per game (first in the Big 12 and seventh nationally).

Individually, seniors Blaire Luna and Taylor Hoagland are both Top 25 finalists for the USA Collegiate Softball Player of the Year. Luna is 24-3 with a 1.19 ERA and 300 strikeouts. Luna is tied for 12th nationally in victories and is first in the country in strikeouts per seven innings (12.35). Hoagland leads the nation in on-base percentage (.639) and is third in the Big 12 in batting average (.443).

Texas concludes the regular season with a trip to Stillwater to face Oklahoma State (May 3-5) before the regular season finale at McCombs Field against Baylor.
