Texas Athletics Ticket Revenue Use
Texas Athletics is a self-sustaining auxiliary unit that supports students who represent the university in SEC and NCAA competition. In addition to serving students, we support our campus community of faculty and staff, the Texas Exes, alumni, fans and citizenry of the State of Texas. Texas Athletics finances many campus initiatives and student/staff employment opportunities, including the establishment of academic chairs and professorships, extended hours in UT Libraries, the arts, Longhorn Band and spirit organizations, Neighborhood Longhorns Program, student services and other activities. We also provide other campus units with more than $20 million annually for services. We receive no public or university financial assistance. Monies from tickets and donations are used to support our student athletes who represent the university in sports, in community service activities and in their academic studies.
