INDIANAPOLIS – USA Diving has awarded FINA Diving World Series berths to University of Texas freshman divers Murphy Bromberg and Michael Hixon in addition to Texas-Ex and four-time U.S. Olympian Troy Dumais. The FINA Diving World Series is an invitation-only event for the top finishers from the 2013 FINA World Championships.
Dumais and Hixon will dive together in the three-meter synchronized diving event at the FINA Diving World Series events in Windsor, Ontario (May 30-June 1) and Monterrey, Mexico (June 6-8).
Dumais will join David Boudia in the three-meter synchronized diving event at the FINA Diving World Series events in Beijing, China (March 14-16) and Dubai, UAE (March 20-22).
Bromberg will compete alongside former Ohio State diver Cheyenne Cousineau in the platform synchronized diving event at the aforementioned FINA Diving World Series events in Windsor and Monterrey.
Representing the United States, Dumais and Hixon placed fifth in the three-meter synchronized diving event at last summer's World Championships. Also representing the U.S., Bromberg and Cousineau placed seventh in the platform synchronized diving event at the same meet.
Bromberg and UT redshirt senior Maren Taylor have already qualified for this summer's FINA Diving World Cup, the year's premier international diving event. Taylor will represent the U.S. and compete individually on the three-meter board in Shanghai, China, while Bromberg will compete individually on platform.
