Longhorns compete in their first of two regattas this fall.
WHAT: Under first-year head coach Dave O'Neill, Texas begins fall competition this weekend with the first of two regattas. The Longhorns will take to their home waters on Lady Bird Lake for the 30th annual Head of the Colorado hosted by Austin Rowing Club.
Also known as the PumpkinHead Regatta, the Head of the Colorado is a five-kilometer (5,000 meters) head race typically held on the final Saturday of October, though this year's regatta will be conducted on a four-kilometer course.
