Bromberg qualifies for NCAA Championships

Longhorns win all three events at Zone D as Murphy Bromberg becomes the third Texas diver to qualify for next week’s NCAA Championships.
MINNEAPOLIS – Texas freshman diver Murphy Bromberg won the platform event and secured a NCAA Championships berth Wednesday afternoon on the final day of the NCAA Zone "D" Diving Meet.
The winner and runner-up in the women's platform diving competition were assured of NCAA Championships berths. Bromberg completed a Texas sweep of all three events contested this week with her winning total of 667.4 points in the platform finals. UT senior All-American Maren Taylor won the one-meter and three-meter events on Monday and Tuesday.
Bromberg became the third Texas women's diver to qualify for next week's NCAA Championships in Minneapolis. Taylor qualified with her victory on Monday, and junior Emma Ivory-Ganja clinched her berth with her runner-up finish in Tuesday's three-meter event.
Ivory-Ganja placed 11th in the platform finals Wednesday with 518.30 points. UT sophomore Kristina Hoffmann placed 18th in the preliminary round with 226.45 points.
