OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- No. 3 seed Texas will open the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship against No. 6 seed Oklahoma on Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. Central.
Texas (20-10, 11-7 Big 12) competed its first 20-win season since the 2009-10 campaign with a 65-58 victory over No. 18/18 Oklahoma State on Monday. The Longhorns' third-place finish in the Big 12 is the highest since the 2004-05 season.
Big 12 regular season competition concluded on Tuesday with No. 1 seed Baylor and No. 2 seed West Virginia sharing the regular season title with a 16-2 conference record.
The Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship returns to Oklahoma City for the third time, but makes its first appearance in Chesapeake Energy Arena – home of the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder. The event will be held Friday-Monday, March 7-10.
Single-session tickets are on sale for $25 and $20 plus fees, for reserved seats. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster by calling 1-800-745-3000 or online. They can also be purchased at the Chesapeake Energy Arena box office.
