AUSTIN, Texas -- Starting this fall, UT Athletics offers students the option to purchase The Big Ticket -- a single transaction, single price ticket that provides access to all regular season home events. The Big Ticket goes on sale June 5 for returning students, incoming freshmen and newly admitted students. Each eligible student (graduate and undergraduate) may purchase The Big Ticket for $175 (plus a $20 transaction fee).
"The Big Ticket offers more value, convenience, and some of the best seats to our students, who are the heart of The University of Texas," said Men's Athletics Director Steve Patterson. "This ticket structure provides for more student engagement, encourages participation at all UT Athletics sporting events and a better gameday experience."
"I know students will be excited about The Big Ticket," said Ryan Shingledecker, president of Students for Texas Athletics. "We've been clamoring for a simpler process for years. This is the best thing that could've happened!"
The Big Ticket allows students to buy a reserved seat to all Texas Football regular season home games and general admission access to all other regular season home athletics events with a single purchase.
For football only, The Big Ticket holders may purchase a guest ticket for $405 (plus a $20 transaction fee). This ticket may be used by any guest and reserves a seat next to the ticket holder. Students who purchase The Big Ticket after the priority deadline will have their reserved football ticket allocated in the best available location within the student section.
The Big Ticket may be purchased on TexasSports.com by signing into the student account. After paying the one-time price of $175 (plus a $20 transaction fee), The Big Ticket is downloaded directly onto the student's valid UT ID.
Ticket holders receive a reserved seat in the student section for all six Texas Football home games for the 2015 season. Seat allocation is based on group and class year. The Big Ticket still allows students to create and join seating groups for football. Print-at-home tickets are emailed the week of August 25 and must be presented along with a valid UT student ID to enter all football games. For all other 2015-16 UT Athletics events, only a valid UT student ID is required for entrance.
