2014-15 Texas Men's Basketball Non-Conference Schedule
AUSTIN, Texas — A road contest against defending NCAA Champion Connecticut and a home game against 2014 NCAA "Sweet 16" participant Stanford highlight the 2014-15 University of Texas basketball non-conference schedule released today. The Longhorns also will make an appearance in the prestigious 2K Sports Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project.
Texas will finalize its non-conference schedule when the pairings for the annual Big 12/SEC Challenge are announced later. The date of that contest is expected to be in early December.
The Big 12 Conference schedule has not been finalized at this time. UT's complete television schedule for the 2014-15 season will be announced at a later date.
Texas will open the season at home with a pair of regional round games in the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project on Friday, Nov. 14 and Sunday, Nov. 16. Opponents for those games have not been announced.
The Longhorns then head to historic Madison Square Garden in New York City for the championship rounds of the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project (Nov. 20-21). Texas will be joined in the four-team tourney field by California, Iowa and Syracuse. Matchups for the championship rounds in New York City will be announced at a later date.
UT will host Saint Francis (Pa.) on Tuesday, Nov. 25, before traveling to face defending National Champion Connecticut on Sunday, Nov. 30. The Texas-UConn matchup is tentatively scheduled to be played on-campus at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn., but Connecticut has the right to move the game to XL Center in Hartford.
Texas will host UT Arlington on Tuesday, Dec. 2, before playing in the Big 12/SEC Challenge against an opponent to be announced later (date and site to be determined later as well).
The Horns conclude their non-conference schedule with a five-game homestand. Texas will host Texas State (Saturday, Dec. 13), Lipscomb (Tuesday, Dec. 16), Long Beach State (Saturday, Dec. 20) and Stanford (Tuesday, Dec. 23) prior to the Christmas holiday. UT will conclude its non-conference slate with a home contest against Rice (Dec. 29).
Season Ticket Information:
The 2014-15 Texas Men's Basketball season ticket renewal period will begin on Monday, May 5. Also, new season ticket orders will be accepted starting on the same date. All season-ticket requests are filled according to UT Athletics priority policies.
