Women's Tennis' Addison earns NCAA singles berth

All-America sophomore Breaunna Addison will compete in the 64-player singles draw at the NCAA Championships.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas All-America sophomore Breaunna Addison has earned a second consecutive berth to compete in the 64-player singles draw at the NCAA Championships.
Addison earned the automatic berth granted to the Big 12 Conference's highest-ranked student-athlete. Addison earned one of the 16 seeds available and collected a "9-16" seed.
Addison enters the NCAA championship season with a 26-9 overall singles record and a No. 15 ITA national singles ranking. The Boca Raton, Fla., native has won 10 consecutive matches and hasn't dropped a match since a March 8 indoor contest against Michigan.
Addison boasts an 18-4 mark in dual-match play at No. 1 singles. She posted an 8-0 mark in Big 12 play at No. 1 singles and won the Big 12 title at that position.
Last season, Addison became the third Longhorn and the first UT freshman to reach the singles semifinals at the NCAA Championships. Addison became UT's first freshman to earn All-America honors in singles or doubles since Susan Gilchrist in 1990.
The NCAA Championships singles tournament begins May 21 at The University of Georgia. The tournament draw will be released just prior to the championships.
