New multi-year deal delivers Longhorn Network to DIRECTV customers, in and out of the home
ESPN and DIRECTV announced today that Longhorn Network (LHN), the 24/7 channel devoted to The University of Texas, will be available to fans within the state of Texas and nationwide beginning this Wednesday, Jan. 21. Carriage of the network is part of a larger agreement between DIRECTV and The Walt Disney Company.
Longhorn Network will be available to DIRECTV customers in Texas on channel 677 in the CHOICE package or above, and nationwide for customers who subscribe to the DIRECTV SPORTS PACK. In addition, DIRECTV customers who receive LHN as part of their satellite service will soon be able to enjoy the network's exclusive live events and content via WatchESPN on their computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices – at home or on the go. DIRECTV is expected to offer WatchESPN beginning in late February or early March and will be available on DIRECTV Everywhere shortly thereafter.
The network launched in 2011 and televises more than 175 athletic events in 20 sports annually, as well as academic and cultural programming from in and around the greater Austin community. DIRECTV customers have access to exclusive Longhorn games, Texas coaches' shows, dedicated pre- and post-game football coverage, basketball and baseball games, nightly news/information programming, in-depth features and all-access content and programs covering the history and pride of Texas athletics.

Longhorn Network is available on DIRECTV, AT&T U-verse TV, DISH, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS TV, as well as Bay City CableVision, Cablevision, Charter Communications, Consolidated Communications, Cox Communications, En-Touch Systems, E-Tex Communications, Grande Communications, Google Fiber (in Kansas City), Mid-Coast CableVision and Texas Mid-Gulf CableVision. Longhorn Network is now available online to DIRECTV (in early 2015), AT&T U-verse TV, Charter Communications, Cox Communications, Grande Communications and Verizon FiOS subscribers at LonghornNetwork.com. It is also available at no cost to U.S.-based military personnel via computers, smartphones and tablets connected to on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks and on tablets and on smartphones to fans with an affiliated video subscription.
