Longhorn Foundation members have option to purchase parking for 2015 Football season

Information and explanation related to football gameday parking.
Each year, Texas Athletics pays UT Parking and Transportation Services more than $1 million for athletics event parking, diverting dollars from student-athlete support and structure.
Following consultation with the Longhorn Foundation Advisory Council, we have adjusted the gameday parking model to put more resources into the student-athlete experience. Longhorn Foundation members who donate at least $50 annually have access to purchase gameday parking; parking permits are offered for the 2015 season at three price levels.
Longhorn Foundation members who renew their season tickets and annual donation by April 10 will receive an email in May with their official online selection time. Selection times are based on Loyalty Points rank as of April 10. During their selection time, members will be able to purchase parking permits in available areas.
By paying for parking access, Longhorn Foundation members allow their donations to be directed fully to their intended purpose -- providing a premier student-athlete experience.
This model is also more financially responsible. Previously, we automatically purchased and sent parking to all eligible Longhorn Foundation members with football season tickets. Over the past four years, only an average of 6,200 permits per game were used despite issuing more than 10,000 permits. Fewer unused permits will also mean more parking available in closer proximity to stadium.
In addition, this model allows us to be good campus stewards, as parking availability is being drastically reduced due to construction projects. We will lose access to 572 on-campus spaces through 2015.
Texas Athletics is committed to providing better gameday service to all patrons, and this includes a better gameday parking experience by working with city and campus officials to ensure smooth traffic flow before and after games.
We are also proud to offer additional transportation options, like the Longhorns Express shuttle service. Shuttles provide transportation to Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium from Barton Creek Mall (2901 S. Capital of Texas Hwy.) and the Intramural Fields (51st and Guadalupe streets). The round-trip cost is $9 per person; children 12 and under ride free.
