Addison set for third NCAA singles appearance

Two-time All-America junior Breaunna Addison will take on Rice’s Natalie Beazant Wednesday in the first round of the NCAA singles draw.
WACO, Texas – Texas two-time All-America junior Breaunna Addison will take on Rice's Natalie Beazant in the first round of the 64-player singles draw at the NCAA Championships, the NCAA announced Tuesday. Addison and Beazant will meet Wednesday at 4 p.m. Central at Baylor's Hurd Tennis Center. Live scoring and video will be available here.
The 52nd-ranked Addison brings a 13-7 overall singles record into Wednesday's contest against Rice's 32nd-ranked Beazant. The 2014 Big 12 Player of the Year, Addison reached the singles round of 16 at the 2014 NCAA Championships, where she nailed down her second consecutive I.T.A. All-America honor in singles.
As a first-semester freshman in 2013, the Boca Raton, Florida, native became the third Longhorn and the first UT freshman to reach the singles semifinals at the NCAA Championships. Addison was Texas' first freshman to earn All-America honors in singles or doubles since Susan Gilchrist in 1990.
