Corrie receives wild card to compete in Wimbledon

Former Longhorn will represent Great Britain in singles and doubles at The Championships.

LONDON -- Former Longhorn Edward Corrie (2007-11) has been awarded two wild cards to compete in the Wimbledon Gentlemen's singles qualifying draw and doubles main draw with partner Kyle Edmund. Corrie will represent Great Britain at The Championships starting with qualifying singles on June 22. Competition in the doubles main draw commences on June 29.
Corrie and Edmund are one of seven pairs to be awarded a wild card to the doubles field of 64. Matchups for the Wimbledon main draws will be released on June 26.
Corrie is making his second consecutive appearance in Wimbledon. Last year Corrie competed in the doubles main draw with Daniel Smethurst, losing in the first round.
Corrie was a two-time ITA All-American at The University of Texas, compiling records of 105-57 in singles and 98-45 in doubles. The Harpendon, England native finished all four of his collegiate seasons ranked in both the ITA singles and ITA doubles polls, including three top-10 finishes in doubles.
