The Longhorns and Fighting Irish face off on Sunday, Sept. 4 in Austin.
Texas Football season ticket members are among the most loyal Texas Longhorns fans. Through consistent presence and constant support, they display a commitment to Texas student-athletes, appreciation for their efforts, and investment in their future success.
When the Longhorns open the 2016 season in a Sunday spotlight game against historic Notre Dame at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, season ticket members will also play a crucial role in determining the victor.
Season ticket members supply the people and the energy that will fill the stadium on Sunday, Sept. 4. Individual tickets to experience the first face-off between the Longhorns and Fighting Irish in Austin since 1996 are available exclusively to season ticket members.
As we look to fill DKR and sell out the stadium, the only way to guarantee a ticket to the game is by being a Texas Football season ticket member.
Season ticket member access to purchase Texas-Notre Dame tickets begins the last week of June. Access to tickets is based on Loyalty Points rankings as of June 1, 2016; ticket limits are based on 2016 annual giving levels. This is the same priority allocation process used for AT&T Red River Showdown tickets.
Season ticket members will receive email notification later in June with information for when and how to purchase their additional Texas-Notre Dame tickets.
New orders for 2016 Texas Football season tickets are being accepted as of Tuesday, June 14. Exact seat locations are available and can be selected at time of purchase.
The kickoff time for the Texas-Notre Dame football game on Sunday, Sept. 4 is 6:30 p.m. CT with the contest to be televised in an exclusive national window on ABC.
The Longhorns, ranked No. 3 all-time with 886 wins, and Fighting Irish (No. 2/892 wins) have combined to win more than 72 percent of their games and have met in football 11 times dating back to 1913. The Fighting Irish hold a 9-2 advantage. The last meeting in Austin pitted No. 6 Texas vs. No. 9 Notre Dame in 1996. That game came down to the wire as the Fighting Irish kicked a 39-yard field goal as time expired in a 27-24 victory. Charlie Strong was a Notre Dame assistant coach at the time.
A notable victory for the Longhorns is a 21-17 Cotton Bowl win against Notre Dame to cap their 1969 National Championship season.
