AUSTIN, Texas – Future Longhorn Alexis Duncan closed the IAAF World Junior Championships with the best run of her life and came away in fourth place. Duncan crossed the finish line with a new personal best time of 12.93 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles and just missed the medal stand.
Duncan finished in fourth place for Team USA and trailed third by just .04 to just miss winning bronze. Her time would rank seventh in school history after running 13.02 in the semifinals.
The performance by Duncan marks the highest finish of all six current or future Longhorns competing at the IAAF World Junior Championships.
Texas did see four top eight finishes from its student-athletes competing in Poland over the last week. Incoming freshman Elena Bruckner finished seventh in both the shot put and discus, and rising sophomore Mariam Abdul-Rashid was eighth in the 400 meter hurdles.
