2016 Men's Olympic Basketball Competition Schedule
RIO — Former University of Texas standout Kevin Durant posted 14 points to help Team USA to a hard-fought 98-88 win against Australia (2-1) in preliminary round play at the 2016 Olympics on Wednesday evening. Durant converted 2-of-4 three-pointers and 4-of-4 free throws while adding 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 assist in 34 minutes.
The Americans (3-0) return to the court to face Serbia at 5 p.m. CT on Friday, Aug. 12. Team USA then concludes pool play against France at 12:15 p.m. CT on Sunday, Aug. 14. Both remaining preliminary round games will be televised live on NBC Sports Network.
The top four teams from each Olympic preliminary round group will advance to the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Aug. 17. The winners of those contests will play in the semifinals on Friday, Aug. 19. The gold and bronze medal games will be held on Sunday, Aug. 21.
