2016 Men's Olympic Basketball Competition Schedule
RIO — Former University of Texas standout Kevin Durant posted 16 points to lead Team USA to a 113-69 victory against Venezuela (0-2) in preliminary round play at the 2016 Olympics on Monday evening. Durant converted 5-of-5 field goals, including 2-of-2 from three-point range, and 4-of-6 free throws while adding 5 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 blocked shot in 25 minutes.
The Americans (2-0) return to the court to face Australia at 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Aug. 10. Team USA then faces Serbia at 5 p.m. CT on Friday, Aug. 12 before concluding pool play against France at 12:15 p.m. CT on Sunday, Aug. 14. All three remaining preliminary round games will be televised live on NBC Sports Network.
The top four teams from each Olympic preliminary round group will advance to the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Aug. 17. The winners of those contests will play in the semifinals on Friday, Aug. 19. The gold and bronze medal games will be held on Sunday, Aug. 21.
