Women’s Basketball ‘Shoot for a Cure’ kicks off breast cancer awareness month
01.31.2017 | Women's Basketball
Help raise awareness as we search for a cure and join us throughout February.
Karen Aston and the Texas Women's Basketball team are celebrating the strength and courage of countless breast cancer survivors and fighters throughout the month of February.
Help raise awareness as we search for a cure, and join us during a month-long commitment to pink and the hope that color emotes and transcends. Wear pink as we do our part to educate the next generation of young people how early detection can save lives in the fight against breast cancer.
The Longhorns defeated K-State on Saturday, Feb. 4 in the annual Shoot for a Cure game.
The month of awareness culminates on Monday, Feb. 20, when the Longhorns square off against Baylor in an ESPN2-broadcast game dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness. As NFL teams and fans wear pink throughout October in honor of breast cancer survivors, fighters and change-makers, Texas fans are also encouraged to wear pink to all home games throughout February.
