Anna Turati advances in singles qualifying draw at ITF Norman (Okla.) pro event

UT junior earns straight-set victory on Monday to advance to Tuesday’s final round of qualifying.
NORMAN, Okla. — University of Texas junior Anna Turati recorded a 6-2, 6-4 win against Ivana Corley (USA) on Monday in the second round of singles qualifying at the ITF (International Tennis Federation) 25k pro circuit event at the Headington Family Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma. With the victory, Turati advances to the third and final round of qualifying on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
Turati is currently No. 797 in the latest WTA (Women's Tennis Association) world singles rankings. She must win three qualifying-round matches to advance to the 32-player main draw that starts on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

UT junior All-American Bianca Turati dropped a 7-6, 6-2 decision to Deniz Khazaniuk (Israel) in the Round of 32 at the Oracle Challenger Series in Houston on Monday. Turati was one of six current and former NCAA student-athletes awarded wild cards into the main draw of the tourney. Khazaniuk is No. 253 in the latest WTA world singles rankings.
