Trio from Women's Tennis advance in pair of ITF pro events

Turati twins both move on to Round of 16 in 25k event in Lawrence; Labraña advances to Round of 16 in 60k tourney in Chile.
LAWRENCE, Kan. — University of Texas juniors Anna and Bianca Turati each earned singles victories on Tuesday in the Round of 32 at the ITF (International Tennis Federation) 25k pro circuit event at the Jayhawk Tennis Center. Both Turati twins advance to the Round of 16 on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
Bianca Turati (WTA No. 452) posted a dominant 6-2, 6-0 win against WTA No. 288 and tournament No. 3 seed Robin Anderson (USA) on Tuesday. Anna Turati earned a hard-fought 6-4, 5-7, 6-1 victory against Malkia Menguene (USA) in a match that lasted two hours and 47 minutes.

In Round of 32 action at the ITF 60k pro circuit event in Colina, Chile, sophomore Fernanda Labraña registered an impressive 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 victory against Ivania Martinich (Chile) on Tuesday. The match lasted two hours and 23 minutes.
