Ito tabbed Big 12 Player of the Week

All-American is 7-0 without dropping a set in dual-match singles this season.
IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced Tuesday the selection of Texas All-America sophomore Yuya Ito as the league's Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
Ito, an All-American as a true freshman last season, knocked off an ITA top-60 opponent and improved to 7-0 in dual matches over the weekend. He defeated Utah State's Sam Serrano (6-1, 6-0) at No. 2 singles in the Longhorns' 6-1 win over the Aggies.
Ito moved up to No. 1 singles on Sunday against Arkansas and responded with a 6-2, 7-6 (5) victory over the Razorbacks' 59th-ranked Jose Salazar. It marked Ito's first win of the season over a ranked opponent.
Ito and the Longhorns resume dual-match play on Feb. 25 when they host Georgia Tech at Texas Tennis Center.
