Senior forward Dylan Osetkowski led four Longhorns in double-figure scoring with a season-high 16 points.
AUSTIN, Texas — Senior forward Dylan Osetkowski recorded a season-high 16 points to lead The University of Texas Men's Basketball team (12-9, 4-4 Big 12) to a 73-63 win against No. 11/12 Kansas (16-5, 5-3 Big 12) on Tuesday night at the Frank Erwin Center. Osetkowski converted 5-of-10 from the floor and 6-of-6 from the free throw line while adding a season-high 3 assists in 35 minutes.
Senior guard Kerwin Roach II registered 15 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists while hitting 6-of-7 free throws. Freshman forward Jaxson Hayes posted 13 points and 9 rebounds while converting 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Sophomore guard Jase Febres added 12 points, hitting 4-of-8 from three-point range.
Texas snapped a 10-game losing streak to the Jayhawks in the series. The Longhorns improved to 6-1 over their last seven home games against AP Top 20 opposition.
Roach hit 3-of-5 from three-point range to start the game to give the Longhorns an 8-point cushion (20-12) at the 8:09 mark. After Febres knocked down a three to increase the lead to 23-12 with 5:53 left, Kansas answered with an 11-1 spurt to pull within one (24-23) at the 1:41 mark.
Hayes knocked down a pair of free throws with 1:22 left to send the Longhorns into the locker room up by three (26-23). KU's 23 points tied its lowest first-half scoring output of the season.
Osetkowski found Courtney Ramey for a corner three-point basket to push UT's lead to nine (42-33) at the 11:16 mark. Kansas' Dedric Lawson completed a three-point play to trim the margin to four (60-56) with 1:52 remaining.
However, Febres countered by draining his fourth three-pointer of the night to extend UT's advantage back to seven (63-57) with 1:38 left. The Longhorns went 8-of-8 from the free throw line over the last 41 seconds to seal the win.

- Texas improved to 6-1 in its last seven home games against AP Top 20 opponents. The Longhorns are 2-1 at home against AP Top 20 competition this year, including wins against No. 20 Oklahoma and No. 11 Kansas.
