Women's Tennis' Anna Turati’s run at ITA All-American Championships ends in semifinals

TULSA, Okla. — University of Texas women's tennis senior Anna Turati dropped a hard-fought 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 decision against No. 4-ranked Alexa Graham of North Carolina on Saturday in the semifinals of the Saint Francis Health System ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Center.
No. 17 Turati, the No. 15 overall seed in the tourney, reached the semifinals after winning four-consecutive matches over a span of 48 hours against Top-50 nationally-ranked opponents, including a pair of Top-10 victories. On Thursday, she posted a 6-1, 6-0 win against No. 45 Yufei Long (Boston College) and a 6-1, 6-1 victory against No. 22 Solymar Colling (San Diego). On Friday, Turati added a 6-0, 6-1 win against No. 2 Estela Perez-Somaribba (Miami, Fla.) in the Round of 16 and rallied for a 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (10-8) victory against No. 7 Sara Daavettila (North Carolina).
By reaching the singles quarterfinals at the ITA All-American Championships, Turati earned automatic entry into the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, scheduled for Nov. 6-10 in Newport Beach, Calif.
