Women's Tennis' Labraña advances to singles Round of 16 at ITF Norman 15k tourney

UT junior earns straight-set victory in Round of 32 singles.

NORMAN, Okla. — University of Texas junior Fernanda Labraña posted an impressive 6-3, 6-1 victory against Anastasia Sysoeva (Russia) on Wednesday in the Round of 32 at the ITF (International Tennis Federation) 15k pro circuit event at the University of Oklahoma Tennis Club.
Labraña, ranked No. 986 in the WTA singles rankings, joins teammate Anna Turati in the Round of 16 on Thursday, Oct. 3. The tandem of Labraña and Anna Turati also will play in the doubles quarterfinals in Norman on Thursday.
Senior Bianca Turati (WTA No. 352) dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision to WTA No. 203 Caroline Dolehide (USA) in the singles Round of 32 at the ITF 60k pro event in Charleston, S.C.
