Women's Tennis accounts for three doubles wins at H-E-B Women’s Pro Tennis Open

All three doubles teams featuring current UT players advance to the main draw quarterfinals.
AUSTIN, Texas — All three doubles teams featuring current University of Texas players posted victories on Tuesday afternoon to advance to the main draw quarterfinals at the H-E-B Women's Pro Tennis Open at the Texas Tennis Center. The tournament is an ITF (International Tennis Federation) 15k pro circuit event.
Sophomore Marta Perez Mur and freshman Gabby Cusano registered a 6-4, 6-3 win against Alisha Reayer (Great Britain) and Maria Aran Teixido Garcia (Spain). Senior twin sisters Anna Turati and Bianca Turati posted a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Emma Davis (USA) and Alicia Herrero Linana (Spain), while junior Fernanda Labraña and her partner Melany Solange Krywoj (Argentina) rallied for a 1-6, 7-6 (7-2), 1-0 (10-5) win against Madison Appel (USA) and Dominque Schaefer (Peru).
Perez Mur and Cusano will play their doubles quarterfinal match against the tourney's No. 4 seed, Tiphanie Fiquet (France) and Alyssa Tobita (USA), on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The Turati twins will face the No. 2-seeded duo of Mary Closs (USA) and Madeleine Kobelt (USA) in the quarterfinals on Thursday, Oct. 24. Labraña and Solange Krywoj, the tourney's No. 1 seed, will play Brittany Collens (USA) and Mara Schmidt (USA) in a quarterfinal on Thursday.
A total of six current Longhorns will begin action in the 32-player singles main draw on Wednesday, Oct. 23, including Bianca Turati (top seed), Anna Turati (No. 2 seed), Labraña (No. 8 seed), sophomores Tijana Spasojevic and Perez Mur and freshman Lexi Ryngler.
