Women's Tennis' Anna Turati advances to singles quarterfinals at ITF Norman 15k tourney

NORMAN, Okla. — University of Texas senior Anna Turati won her singles match and teamed with junior Fernanda Labraña to claim a victory in doubles on Thursday at the ITF (International Tennis Federation) 15k pro circuit event at the University of Oklahoma Tennis Club.
In Round of 16 singles action on Thursday morning, Turati posted a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Ashlyn Krueger (USA). Labraña then dropped a 6-4, 6-1 decision to Dalayna Hewitt (USA), No. 909 in the latest WTA singles rankings, in her Round of 16 match. The duo of Turati and Labraña returned later in the afternoon and registered a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) win against Carmen Corley and Ivana Corley (USA) in the doubles quarterfinals.
On Friday, Turati will face Emma Davis (USA) in the singles quarterfinals. The tandem of Turati and Labraña will play Kailey Evans and Ashlyn Krueger (USA) in the doubles semifinals.
